Hermosillo will host an international youth baseball tournament this weekend at El Cárcamo Vado del Río. 24 teams from Mexico and the United States are scheduled to appear.[^1]

One stated objective of the event is to act as a player showcase. Scouts from Hermosillo, the Mexican Baseball League and Major League Baseball organizations will attend.[^7]

Separately, four outlets have published conflicting start dates for the 88th DRD Class A Baseball postseason in Puerto Rico. Three outlets list the start date as October 4 2025. One outlet lists the tournament playoffs as having already begun October 4 2024.[^2][^3][^4][^6]

Former player Oliver Pérez attended the tournament presentation alongside the league president and the presidents of competing teams.[^5]
